The Motorcycle Storage Is Done

Finished the metal roof last night and just in time, because we are supposed to have several inches of rain over the next few days. I built a loft area 6' up and 6' out from the back to store boxes and crap. As you can see it is already getting full. And the ramp is on hinges and folds up against the garage door so I don't lose any more yard space.

  1. Well done! What do you estimate the total cost to build that size? Got some friends to help for beer and pizza.

  2. You want a shock, total cost to me no BS was $480. I have a buddy that has a saw mill that made the siding boards for it out of the trees in my back yard for free, another that is a contractor that gave me old 2X4's for the wall studs, plywood for the roof and pressure treated from an old deck for the floor trusses free, garage door and steel one free off Craigslist. I paid for the plywood floor, metal roof and wood screws. It's 12X12 and 10 1/2' tall inside to the peak. And I did 90% by myself on the last 7 weekends.

  3. Looks good, I was going to see if you got the roof done yesterday and if you needed any help today. But looks like you got it.
