Do You Have Something To Sell?

My blog is now getting just under 200 unique hits a day so it's nice to see some traffic. I have seen other blogs that will list your cool motorcycle related stuff that you want to sell and would like to offer the same to my "Registered Followers" ONLY. So if you have something for sale and would like to list it on here go to my profile and email me with a link to a pic or two, price, description, blogger ID, location and an email you would like me to use in the listing for interested people to contact you. I am going to pick one a week or so depending on how many I get as I don't want to not clog the blog with them and it will also help to keep them on the front page for you too. And the cost to you NOTHING, NADA, FREE all for just following my blog, what a deal!

Food Poisoning

So I made the wife and myself some taco's on Saturday and the meat must have been bad. We both spent all night Saturday and most of the day Sunday taking turns for the bathroom, lots of fun. Don't think I'll eat Mexican food for a couple months after this weekend. So needless to say nothing got done in the garage.

About Friggin' Time !!!!!

The 1991 Honda Accord is DONE! After searching the interweb all day yesterday and finding about 10 pages of suggestions we got it. My wife drove it to work yesterday and said she would be by my work to swap with my truck (we work around the corner from each other) because it was running horrible with no power. I was baffled because it was rattling a little on my test drive the night before but nothing bad.
I started it up when I left work and WTF it ran like dogshit! When it got to 50mph it ran good but no power getting going. One of the suggestions was a bad valve cover gasket that allowed oil into the plug reservoir. I checked and sure enough 3 of 4 had oil in them. $34 later and a set of plugs too, went to start it and it was better but still hesitating. I was inside the car revving the motor and my buddy Steve was looking under the hood when he said shut it down. I did and he pointed to the plug wire that had popped off the distributor cap.........Whoops.
When we hooked that up it ran better (obviously) but still had a shake while you were stopped foot on brake and car in drive. We then upped the RPM's another 100 and BAM! no rattle, runs smooth, bout damn time. It even passed the wife's driving test. Whew! And I am still only $575 into it all together and clean trade in is $1175 so I didn't do bad.
That means I get to do rust repair on the Durango now Yaaayy.

Inspiration

WTF

Well I spent most of the afternoon Sunday and Monday replacing the motor mounts on my wife's Accord because they were bad. I was also thinking that it would fix the vibration problem in the engine compartment. It was the biggest pain in the ass to get the rear mount replaced, probably the worst thing I have ever had to do on a car. Anyway it didn't fix the problem it is still vibrating right up the steering column and making all kinds of rattles. So the search continues...............................I'll keep you updated. I might just enter it into one of these!

Weekend Sexy Ass

The COLD Ride In

Took my Sportster to work yesterday because it was going to be 51 degrees later. It was 36 when I left the house and I wore two pairs of gloves, my leather inside an old pair of winter ones, would have been better the other way around but the leather wouldn't stretch enough. Stopped once on the 25 mile ride in to get feeling back to my throttle hand fingers. And well by the time I rode home at 4pm it was no longer 51 out and the sun was well below the trees. So unless I get good weather during the day and I can ride during the day I can say it's officially winter and time to turn the heater on and work on bikes. I have to work on cars this weekend and have to get them DONE as it's supposed to reach 61 (yeah right) and I have to work outside in the driveway when I do cars. So I want to take advantage of the warmish weather while I can. Here's a pic of the Sporty from a year ago several things have changed and I can't believe I don't have a recent pic but this will have to do.

Got In The Garage

Got some work done tonight, not much, but something. Finally unstrapped the CB750 frame from the table and flipped it to finish the welding underneath. Then I rewelded my seat on the Sportster that was done 3 years ago when I first got the welder (wasn't pretty). Mike was over and he managed to get the tank mounted Frisco style, the chain on and some other minor things. Oh yeah and we got a new wick in the kerosene heater and fired it up. It was a little cool tonight but will be getting colder soon enough. Bought the heater off Craigslist 3 years ago for $10 and it was well worth it. Here's a pic of it and if anyone is looking for a way to heat a garage without hooking a furnace up or heavy electrical you should check it out. Corona DK23

How Stupid Are These Guys

I guess it's a good thing most of their bikes are for show and not the road after seeing this.

1 Down 1 To Go

Well my wife's new/old Honda Accord passed inspection yesterday so that leaves the Durango. I have to fix some rust holes on the rocker panel and I have decided to undercoat the lower body panels instead of matching paint this time. I guess this will be my weekend project to get it ready as it needs inspection in November. And just so you all know, I HATE body work, so these past few weeks not working on bikes have been bad enough but to have to do something I don't like makes it even worse. The upside is when this is over I should be clear from vehicle work for a while.
