Furlough Work

Had the two and a half days off work and did shit loads around the house. Did the normal clean the gutters, floors, under the fridge and stove, and yard work. But I also worked on her frame for the CB750. It is done! Finished welding, filling, primer, paint and cleared. I will be posting more about it as I put it back together.

We also took the kitchen table that was about 6 years old... and with an 8 year old son it was beat up. We sanded it down and refinished it. Came out damn good.

Yippee!?!?

I guess?!?! I was called back to work today so that's a positive, right? Well the negative is I get to work for what they call future pay. When the government gets their heads out of their asses and kiss and make up and actually sign a budget then I will get payed for back service. So now I get to somehow pay for gas to go to my work that will someday pay me... hopefully?!?! I am sure my mortgage company, power co, credit cards, property taxes, water bills and on and on will understand when I tell them they are working for future pay. And I am sure the grocery store will just give me food for my family when I tell them I will pay them sometime in the future. Right?!?!

Heads Or Tails

Will I have a job to go to next Tuesday or not?!?!? Hope they can get the budget done but I don't think they will. This is what I picture Washington D.C. looks like.

                                                 Plus a quote I like.

“This is an astoundingly irresponsible way to govern,” Mr. Hagel said, adding that a fully functioning military went beyond its uniformed forces to its civilian personnel. “If this continues, we will have a country that is ungovernable.”

Sewing Machine

A friend got this for free at the dump recycle store. It was in a table that was crap. I rewired it, oiled it and made a nice little box for the bottom to hide the mechanics so they can display it on a shelf. It runs better than any new machine, so nice and smooth. If you can find on get it, most of these will do leather too if your into making wallets and things like that.

Building A Treehouse

Well my son has been bugging me for a tree house so I finally did it. It isn't high up actually only about 4 feet up but that was the best tree to stumps place we had. It is 8X8 and 6' high in the front 5' in the back.

Here is a pic the first day I started the build.

Then I added the windows I found on the side of the road. They tip out on hinges.

Then I built a small deck and door. He looks like a happy boy.

It has indoor/outdoor carpet and he took our folding picnic table to have a place to sit.

The hole under the window is going to get a freezer door type of covering. That is how the dog comes in.
