Sorry for the lack of blogging but second shift sucks. I took my old fender that the guy before had Rhino Lined power sanded it off, cut it down and painted it....... drum roll please...BLACK. Big surprise right, I must have 20 cans of black spray paint. Anyway here are some pics, I like it kinda. It will help if it starts raining at midnight on my way home. Tomorrow I am checking the front end of the Durango and messing with the boat.

Second Shifter
Well I got forced to second for the next six weeks. On the plus side I have to get my ass out and fix the Durango's rust and ball joints for an inspection sticker seeing as how it was due last November. Whoops. I am also going to be working on the boat to get at least a ride in this summer. So I will make sure to take pics, which I am normally very forgetful about. I didn't do anything today as I needed a day to screw around so here's an ass pic to keep you happy.

Dodge Durango Exhaust
Well I was driving to the bus today and the tail pipe fell off the Durango. It was already loud because the flange from the exhaust that connects to the header rusted and was REALLY loud when you got in it. So I started fixing it tonight and will be done in the AM. When your running around with an expired sticker you want to be quiet and not draw attention to yourself.

CB 750 Finally
On Saturday I started again on my wife's bike. I was cleaning the garage and going thru my bin full of parts and found a fender and sissy bar. The sissy was one off an old Kawi, I cut the part off that would mount on a bike with springs. Then I heated and bent it in to reach the hardtail and flattened the tube out so I could put bolts thru to the axle plate. It wasn't the tall one we wanted but it was free and will work till we can afford what we want. Next is the three cross members, two for the fender and one on the wish bone.

Classic Fiberglass Boat 1964 Starcraft Runabout
So I bought this boat 3 years ago got it running but discovered the water pump wasn't pumping so I shut it down. It was early November so I put it away at my Grams and would fix it "Next Year" well as I said it's been 3. My 7 year old wants it done to go fishing so I brought it home to finish it. It's a 1964 Starcraft Ranger I believe with a 1964 Evinrude 28hp and a Holsclaw original trailer.
First pressure wash, enlist child labor when possible.
Next drop the lower end of the motor to get to the water pump.
Very easy to see why the water pump isn't pumping when you look at the impeller and the arms are supposed to be bent the same way but not this one. So I ordered the part, a whopping $14 off Egay.
While waiting for the part I stripped out the interior, with the exception of the front bench, it gives me a place to make Vrrroomm Vrrroomm noises and have a beer till the parts come in.
I will be carpeting the floor and adding 4 folding seats instead of the bench for ease of getting around the boat to fish plus our Golden Retriever will have some room to lay down. I also have to rewire the lights and get some new rubber on the rims, I think they are original too. And I will let it go fo this year but before next I want new steering and throttle cables. I will update as progress is made.

Fishing
Went fishing with my son a couple weekends ago. It was his first time salt water fishing, we didn't catch anything but it was a good day.

New Grips
Bought some new Coke bottle grips because my metal/rubber combo ones that were on the bike when I got it just were so uncomfortable and not my style being chrome. These things are comfy and I wish I had done it years ago. Got them off Ebay for $11 shipped and it included the throttle sleeve. I also like the way it matches the red speedo and pinstripe on the tank.
What I Worked On Last Weekend
Went camping and finished a couple 12 packs of each. Baxter Brewing from Lewiston Maine had theirs in a can for as it said "backpacking, sports events, Etc" Because most places don't allow glass. And I have to say it was great, a micro brew in a can, and really nice taste, I'm in love. No more Bud crap at the Nascar races for me.

Work In The Garage
Shut up Onespeed yes I finally got out and did some. HAHAHA I fixed my Wife's V Star's oil leak, blinker, carbs cleaned, gas tank noise and sticky throttle. Then I tightened every bolt including my z bars and risers, that were dangerously loose, carb cleaned, added blinks and fixed some random minor things that were bugging me. And they are both now inspected and LEGAL holy shit that's the first time in a while, don't know if I'll ever be able to enjoy a ride again. Sorry about the pre used pics but I am horrible about remembering bringing my camera to the garage.
